INTERMEDIATE LABOUR MARKET

Pilot Project

Intermediate Labour Market (ILM) programmes were recently introduced
to tackle long-term unemployment in the United Kingdom. They offer salaried
posts providing training and work placements.

This model was established in Glasgow in 2005 with an 80% completion
rate and is currently being piloted in West Dunbartonshire by Dumbarton
Area Council on Alcohol.
