ALCOHOL – GOOD OR BAD?
Alcohol is the most widely used behaviour-altering drug in our society. In Scotland,
90% of adults drink it.

Drinking safely at social occasions is part of our culture and excessive drinking is often
tolerated, even encouraged. Yet alcohol-related crimes are becoming an increasing
concern in communities across the country as studies show that binge drinking is on
the increase.

Understanding how much you are drinking and the recommended safe limits can
reduce your chances of experiencing health or other problems.

Many people experience a problem with their drinking or know someone who does, it
is nothing to be ashamed of and the earlier you get help the better.

Fortunately there is a wide range of support and advice available. See the links section
of this website for local and national contacts.
